August Bullshit
Pissing off the French with comics, zut alors! š¬
August was a surprisingly productive month! In addition to the expected art and comics, I also de-rustified some rusted-ass hedge trimmers, making some Washi tape, repairing a car window shade, and then even made some time for a coupleāa podcast/radio interviews with non other than Dan Savage and WORT 90.9 FM! Check it ouuuuut:
š Comic: Just Puzzling š (Patrons only)
Guys? Guys. I frigginā love learning French. Iām so bad at it. And I love it. I love this batshit language. Jāadore cette langue batshit.
Comic: Pardon My French
Much like Tinkerbell, I need attention or Iāll die, so I decided to publicly release this slightly older comic for everyone to read and not just keep it locked away for my (beloved and appreciated) paying patrons. (It got a pretty passionate response on Reddit! Francophones? Passionate? Quelle surprise !)
š Discombobulated (& life drawings) š (Free Followers & Patrons only)
Iām not sure if these are ālife drawingsā or āgesture drawingsā? Theyāre the real quick sketches I make of the people around me in the great outdoors, who are typically in motion so Iāve only got a few seconds to āØcapture their essenceāØ. Also, I rambled a bunch about the bullshit in my life. People who sign up to follow my Patreon for free get to see this post⦠for free! Did you know that is a thing you can do? Just hit the āJoin for freeā button that shows up at the bottom of the post or my Patreonās front page and, next thing you know? Youāre following āØfor freeāØ.
The Vorpal Blade Went Snicker-Snack
In my continuing quest to acquire actually useful life skills in my 40s, I took a garden tool sharpening class and then went to town on my friendās hedge trimmers! Snicker-snack, motherfuckers!
I Can Make My Own Washi Tape
Well, I can.
No Shade
I can also repair our disintegrating car window shade

Eyyyyyyyyyyy, yer girl chatted it up with Americaās Sweetheart, Dan Savage! We talked about vibrators and life-size sex dolls, as you do.
Radio Star: Sex Education Comics Are For Everyone
Radio station WORT 89.9 FM honored us with another feature on our work on Oh Joy Sex Toy! It is always a delight to talk to Matvei Mozhaev, who asks us such insightful, thoughtful questions about comics and sex education and making sex education comics.
Oh hey! Helioscope, my comic book studio, released a great video showing off our new office space! (You can see my little fenced-off work area at the 1:10 minute.) And in miscellaneous news, I ruined a meme, tightened my own bike brakes and then promptly got my wheels stolen, reunited with an old friend, and got some encouragement from my husband. Also, please check out my plum harvest over on Instagram.
Alright, thatās it, I think! Iām off! Farewell! Au revoir ! Ć octobre !
